Endurance on ice 2

This Image is taken from the Polar expedition Endurance where the ship Endurance became stranded on the ice before it ever reached its destination. The ship was eventually crushed by the ice and the crew had to escape the ice and find land.

This image shows the Endurance trapped on the ice and photographed from a distance. The angle of the photograph could suggest that the ship is floating on water or maybe even a sea of ice. The peril is not so apparent in this photograph.
