South Georgia

This Image is taken from the Polar expedition Endurance where the ship Endurance became stranded on the ice before it ever reached its destination. This image shows the group of men that went on ahead to seek help. They had a terrifying journey across the southern ocean in an open top rowing boat and finally made it to the mainland which was South Georgia. It did n't take them long to realise that despite their journey, they still needed to reach the whaling camp on the other side of a mountain range – so they had to climb over the top to reach their saviours.
